Going green in Greene with green homes

View High Fields AdirondacksHigh Fields Farm was the first farm acquired by a family in the South River Valley solely for the purpose of preventing development and conserving the property. It was purchased in 2003 and consists of 128 acres bordering on the South River with panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains including the majestic Saddle Back Mountain. The parcel of land was originally part of the McMullen family farm dating to late 1700’s, and is now mostly open pasture land except for about 30 acres of wooded land on Goodall Mountain located on the property.

After the farm was purchased in 2003, the farm house was renovated and furnished as a holiday rental as a means of keeping the land in farm-use as well as offering an opportunity for others to visit and enjoy the beauty of the pristine South River Valley with its priceless vistas. The testimonials of those who have visited the property--and which can be read on the “What our guests say” page of the www.fairhillfarmusa.com web site--attest to the unsurpassed beauty and tranquilly of the South River Valley area and provide all the reward and reinforcement needed for the South River Land Preservation Group to continue its efforts to preserve and protect the land.
